Where are you finding these things? Can you provide I link? I feel the need to figure out why people are posting these things on the internet.
Whomever (or whatever site) is responsible for making these videos in to HD gifs must be stopped. They are so unnecessary.

I’ve seen some imgur videos linked to some of these. However, it appears that site serves it up in video format. Something must happen when you paste it into a forum/webpage. Maybe the site embeds the whole thing at once as a GIF? I have no idea, but it’s horrible.

I have no idea. It hasn’t yet cached in my system yet to get the properties. While I’m waiting, let me tell you what I found.
You can paste a YouTube URL into imgur, and select the section you would like a GIF made out of. The limit is 15 minutes. FIFTEEN MINUTES.
Not only does the site allow anyone to make any 15 minutes on YouTube into an unnecessary GIF, that plays easily on their site - they allow anyone to paste the .gif which is a crime.
This is probably why my work has started filtering imgur. Too much bandwidth.
63.5 MB was the size of it BTW.

I want to do this and not share them. I want to upload 15min 4K videos 100 times a day in hopes that they turn that shit off.
Why, WHY would you offer a service that creates silent clips of videos that are already on the internet?
I know short gifs are cute, and I love posting reaction gifs, but OMG.. Why create that doge gif when the video already exists?
